Thanksgiving 2017 is now behind us and as we look to the holiday season there are lots of great events for Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa happening in and around Calabasas. Here are some of the best things to do, see, and experience in Calabasas in December.
Winter Celebration at the Leonis Adobe Museum in Calabasas on Sunday, December 3 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM including holiday arts and crafts for the kids, a live animal petting zoo, live music, food, vendors and more. Admission for museum members is free with nonmembers admission at just $8, with kids 2 years and under for free. This event is located at 23537 Calabasas Rd. next to the Sagebrush Cantina.
Christmas Tree Lighting at the Commons at Calabasas on Tuesday, December 5 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This is our annual Christmas tree lighting celebration at the Commons. Join us for food, festivities, and a meet and greet with Santa himself complete with elves, kids face painting and live music. This is a free event.
The annual Menorah Lighting and Chanukah Celebration at the Commons at Calabasas on December 13 at 6:30 PM. Participants will enjoy fireworks, a live concert, and complimentary donuts and latkes. This is a great way to kick off the Jewish holiday on December 13.
Over in Agoura Hills on December 9 is Santa at the Adobe with crafts and stories from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. This is a great time to enjoy some holiday cheer with activities, photo opportunities with Santa Claus, storytime and delicious food. Tickets are just $2 per person and may only be purchased at the door with children 2 and under free.
Also in Agoura Hills on December 3 is the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis. This 5K holiday-themed event begins at 9:30 AM with registration open at 8:00 AM. Tie jingle bells to your shoes and come out to walk or run for a good cause. Registration is $40 for adults and $20 for children 10 and under. There will be holiday entertainment, food, fun, and even a costume contest.
In Oak Park is the Christmas Parade Bike and Boat Ride & Bike Decorating Party. If you wanted to have your own spot in a parade, join us as we participate in the annual Oak Park Christmas Boat Parade and Christmas Bike Parade. The holiday bike decorating party starts at 2:00 PM with lights and Garland for purchase or bring your own and will help you decorate your own bike. The event last until 8:00 PM and you can enjoy the boat parade as well as the bike parade.
