Bell Canyon is an unincorporated gated community in Ventura County just minutes from downtown Los Angeles in the Simi Hills at an elevation of 1368 feet. It’s home to about 2200 residents and is the seventh wealthiest community in the state of California with an annual median income of $230,000. Most incomes in this area are commonly upwards of millions of dollars per year. Bell Canyon is also part of the Simi Hills Wildlife Corridor linking the Santa Monica Mountains and the Santa Susanna mountains. There are several hiking and riding trails throughout the community including the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve Park. The Bell Canyon trail extends nearly 5 miles north from Bell Canyon Park.
Bell Canyon is served by the Las Virgenes Unified School District and are served by the Around The Meadow elementary, the Alice C Stelle middle school and the Calabasas high school. These are some of the top-rated schools in the entire County.
Over the years, Bell Canyon has been home to several noteworthy residents including Joe Rogan, Corey Everson, Lindsay Fonseca, Bruce Campbell, Shelley Berman, Scott Carpenter, and Mark Summers just to name a few.
The residential community lies just west of the Bell Canyon Park and homes are typically priced from $1.2 million to $4.7 million. Residents are required to pay monthly homeowners dues of approximately $250-$300 per month. These dues cover common area maintenance and amenities for the community including and equestrian center, tennis courts, clubhouse, resident’s fitness center, and adult and children’s events and activities throughout the year.
Homes were built between 1970s and the 2000s and some larger lots of up to 2 acres. Homes typically are between 3000 ft.² and 6500 ft.² and all custom-designed with three and four car garages, one and two-story designs, fireplaces and backyard swimming pools.
